Blog Greeting
We’re settling into the second week of October, so naturally it’s time to binge watch some spooky TV shows. I hope you have nothing to do this weekend because I’ve put together a list of some great ones that you can stream right now.

The Twilight Zone - Netflix / CBS All Access

CBS PRODUCTIONS
The OG spooky show. Just the opening theme will give you goosebumps. Each episode is a stand-alone story where the characters find themselves dealing with strange happenings. Some episodes are thinkers, and some will keep you up all night. And if black and white shows aren’t your thing, there’s a revamped version on CBS All Access that will definitely mess with your mind.

The Haunting of Hill House - Netflix

A mix of suspense and mystery. The show is about a family who move into a very haunted Hill House. The story of their time at Hill House is told through flashbacks as you learn about how living in the house has affected the family in present day. You’ll end up watching all 10 episodes in one day.
Bonus - The follow up season called, The Haunting of Bly Manor comes out October 9th!

X-Files - Hulu

The Truth is Out There! A show about two FBI Special Agents tasked to crack some very freaky cases. It leans more towards science fiction than gore or horror, but it’s so scary that I couldn’t be in the same room while my dad was watching it.

Ratched - Netflix

One of the newer spooky shows everyone is talking about. Set in 1947, the series is meant to be an origin story of Nurse Mildred Ratched from the book, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. The sets are super beautiful, and the cast is pretty stacked. You find yourself rooting for Nurse Ratched even though she’s up to some not so good things.

Black Mirror - Netflix

Often compared to The Twilight Zone, but so much worse (in a good way!). Black Mirror is also an anthology series, but leans more on modern anxieties, and near future technology. It will leave you questioning everything. There’s even an episode with Miley Cyrus! And don’t forget about the interactive movie!

The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina - Netflix

If you’re into teen dramas AND spooky television, then this is the show for you. You’ve never seen Sabrina Spellman like this before! So much witchcraft, so much evil, and so many beautiful sets. The show was canceled after only two season, so it ends on sort of a cliffhanger, but it’s absolutely worth your time.

The Simpson’s Treehouse of Horror - Disney+

20th TELEVISION
Can you believe there are 30 (soon to be 31 on October 18) Treehouse of Horrors?  That’s more episodes than some of the mentioned series above. The Simpsons aren’t for everyone, but the Treehouse of Horror episodes are one offs. Each episode has three separate segments, and are usually parodies of well-known movies, books, or other TV shows.
